6 tips for growing Orchids at home

Archidaceae often appears in ancient poetry, is a symbol of nobility, is one of the four gentlemen in the flower, is also the first of the four elegant. Is worthy of the name of the Chinese flower, is China’s more traditional rare flowers. The leaves are very green, and the leaves are very green. But orcidaceae is also very difficult to raise flowers, the following is to introduce the basic plant methods of orcidaceae.

1. Soil selection

The soil of Orchidaceae is dominated by humus. Generally, it is humus soil or humus soil. The configuration method is that the sapropelic soil is mainly added with a small amount of sand soil. The main purpose of this configuration is to make the soil more ventilated, permeable and slightly acidic. This kind of soil is most suitable for the plant of Orchidaceae. If it is in the south, it is better to use the humus soil of the origin, which is commonly known as Orchidaceae mud.

2. Fertilization method

There are two ways to fertilize the soil. Liquid fertilizer or page fertilizer is usually used for topdressing. The concentration of Orchidaceae is required to be lighter than that of other flowers. The plant of Orchidaceae usually needs to change the plant soil once a year, so a small amount of fertilizer can be applied during the growth period. Generally in the growth period, a small amount of thin cake fertilizer water or urea fertilizer water plus potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizer water can be applied. In the flowering stage, potassium dihydrogen phosphate or plant ash water should be sprayed on the leaves to promote the development of flowers. Orchidaceae has developed fleshy roots, and it is not allowed to apply unripe fertilizer to avoid rotten roots

3. Watering

The watering of Orchidaceae is relatively complicated. The amount of watering should be determined according to the varieties of Orchidaceae and the local environment. However, as long as one principle is mastered, there is no big problem, that is, whether the autumn is dry or the winter is not wet. However, Cymbidium sinense, which blooms in winter, needs more water; in summer, due to the high temperature and the vigorous growth period of Orchidaceae, more water should be poured. When watering, do not let the water splash on the leaves, so as to avoid the appearance of black spots on the leaves, affecting the beauty of the appearance. During the growing period of Orchidaceae, the leaves should be watered frequently.

4. Culture temperature of Orchidaceae

The optimum temperature of ochidaceae is 16-24 ℃, and the temperature should not exceed 30 ℃ in summer. In northern China, we should pay attention to the fact that in winter, when the temperature is too low, the orcidaceae should be moved indoors, and the windows should be opened frequently to keep the air in circulation.

5. Illumination of orcidaceae culture

Orchidaceae is a shade loving plant. It is afraid of direct sunlight. Therefore, proper shading should be carried out in spring, summer and autumn. It is better to keep Orchidaceae on the balcony or under the eaves with bamboo shade. Generally, it should be shaded before 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and receive scattered sunlight in the morning and afternoon. In winter, it should be moved to indoor more sunny place.

6. Potting method of orcidaceae culture

Fill the bottom of the pot with tile and slag to facilitate drainage and air permeability. When placing orcidaceae, the root must be straightened to make it naturally spread. After planting, pour water and put it in a cool place.

Orcidaceae is mainly distributed in the southeast and southwest of China. Most of them are located in shady places under forests and rock sides in humid valleys. Therefore, they like warm and humid climate, like shady and humid climate, and avoid high temperature, dry and strong light.
